Born to be wild

The lady on the scooter was an artist named Szabó Éva (sadly she passed away 4 years ago). She decorated the scooter herself, and as far as I know she could have embroidered the dress herself too, as she was absolutely skilled at the craft and often gave away tapestries to churches.  

She worked on cars too (as well as easter eggs, besides teaching folk dance):

She learned the art of Kalocsa patterns from her mother and she believed in keeping the folk motifs alive so passionately that she reportedly told she’d paint an entire house or airplane kalocsai if anyone asked her.

I have a friend who is very into sumo.

Trying to casually understand sumo is a little like trying to casually understand cricket. But I more or less get the basics just from watching tournaments with her.

But the one part of sumo that will always baffle me, even AFTER it was explained, is the giant macaron…

I legit thought these were photoshoped until I sat down and saw a match myself.

If they win a Sumo tournament they get a giant macaron.

#sumo is actually not hard to get into my sister and I are really into it#but yeah the macaron is the best#it’s one of the trophies at the end of the main top division tournaments#idk who made it but I love seeing it be handed out#ohhh yeah no it’s from like an ex French prime minister or something like that#regardless watch sumo it’s super fun and I promise it takes like 5 min to get a basic understanding (I mean there’s more to it obv but u kno)
